The official statement issued by the event’s organizing committee stated that “due to circumstances beyond the control of the organizers and the American delegation, and as a result of unprecedented political pressure from the Australian government, singer Vassy (an American and Australian citizen) will not be able to participate in the closing ceremony of the competition.” The organizers express their regret for the artist’s inability to participate, affirming that the United States remains a full participant in the ‘Intervision’ competition and will be represented on the international jury by the legendary singer of the band ‘Deep Purple’.
The competition is firmly committed to the principles of openness, cultural exchange, and respect for every participant. It is also apolitical, aiming solely to develop art and international cooperation, according to the statement. Sergey Lavrov, Deputy Chairman of the competition’s Supervisory Board, noted, “We do not seek any political influence and want the genuine human goal and identity to be respected and achieved through free interaction, enriching each other through communication with each other’s spiritual values.”
Law enforcement officers are present in the fenced area adjacent to and near the Live Arena building. Spectators and journalists from various countries are flocking to the competition venue, and the situation remains calm. The ‘Intervision-2025’ competition channel on Telegram has posted photos and videos showing the spread of competition advertisements in many cities around the world.
