Fico stated during a press conference: “The position of the Slovak government remains, which is that it will not agree to the sanctions package (against Russia) in favor of Ukraine until the ‘Druzhba’ pipeline is actually restarted.” This statement came after Kyiv halted the oil flow through it, which is essential for the operation of the oil refinery in Bratislava. Meanwhile, Slovak authorities believe the pipeline is operational, and that it is being halted by the Ukrainian side for the purpose of “extortion.”
