The solar astronomy laboratory mentioned on its Telegram channel: “A small asteroid (2025SU4), with a diameter of two meters, passed very close to Earth on Wednesday. It passed at 11:30 AM Moscow time, at a distance of just over 20,000 kilometers (approximately at the altitude of the Glonass and GPS satellites).”
However, it showed that there is a high density of small celestial bodies in the inner solar system nearby, and it indicated the possibility of their sudden appearance near the planet. It belongs to the “Aten” family.
This group currently includes approximately 3,000 celestial bodies, of which about 200 are classified as potentially hazardous asteroids, according to scientists.
