Strengthening Health Initiatives: Enhancing School Medical Staff Competencies

n line with its strategy to improve the health of future generations, the Ministry of Health and Prevention has organized a series of educational workshops aimed at developing the skills of school health personnel and enhancing their cognitive abilities. The goal is to ensure the accuracy and reliability of health data about students, supporting the National Initiative to combat childhood and adolescent obesity.

These workshops, held at the Ministry’s Dubai office, the Teacher Training Institute in Ajman, and in Sharjah, focus on training school medical staff and auxiliary personnel to accurately record anthropometric measurements for students aged 5 to 17. This initiative seeks to establish standardized protocols for data collection related to the early monitoring of obesity metrics in targeted age groups at a national level.
Dr. Hussain Abdul Rahman Al Rand, the Assistant Undersecretary of Public Health, emphasized that this training session aligns with the ministry’s efforts to enhance community health and achieve the objectives of the National Program to combat obesity among children.
