The ministry confirmed in a statement its rejection of any international or regional interventions that do not respect the sovereignty of the state and its legitimate institutions supported by the people. The Sudanese government reiterated its commitment to achieving peace, security, and stability, and to protecting the blood and resources of the Sudanese people, expressing regret over the international community’s failure to enforce the implementation of UN Security Council Resolutions 2736 and 1591. This includes lifting the siege on the city of El Fasher, alleviating the suffering of its citizens, and allowing the passage of relief convoys, according to the statement.
In April 2023, violent and widespread clashes broke out between the forces and the Rapid Support Forces in various regions of Sudan, with each party attempting to control vital locations. Arab, African, and international parties mediated to cease the fire, but these mediations failed to achieve a permanent ceasefire.
