An oil spill observed along the Khorfakkan Corniche beach was swiftly contained and cleaned, thanks to the prompt action of Khorfakkan Municipality.
The spill was identified by the municipality’s Environment Department, which immediately deployed teams to manage and clean the affected site. The rapid response was coordinated with other municipal departments and executed under the direct orders of the municipality’s director.
Authorities stated that the clean-up was completed efficiently to safeguard both beachgoers and marine life.

Khorfakkan Municipality also commended Bee’ah for supplying equipment and specialized field teams to support the operation. This collaboration, they noted, underscores the value of joint efforts in tackling environmental issues and enhancing emergency response.
Khorfakkan has faced similar challenges before. In July, the Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA) reported another oil spill impacting Al Lulayyah and Al Zubarah beaches, which was also successfully managed before causing major harm.
