The Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified through its channel on Telegram that “the delegation started its work with a constructive session with the Director of the General Directorate of Passports and Immigration, Police Major General Osman Mohamed Hassan Dinkawi, in the presence of several senior officials,” according to SANA news agency. Earlier today, the technical delegation from the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs arrived in Sudan.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Syrian transitional government, Asaad Al-Shibani, stated last May that those currently there will be provided with the necessary support and efforts will be made to evacuate them safely.
According to Syrian media, some unofficial statistics suggest that there are approximately 30,000 Syrians in Sudan, most of whom are affected by the rapid support forces’ actions against military sites and installations, especially power plants.
