During a joint press conference with Syrian Foreign Minister Asad Al-Shaybani and the U.S. Special Envoy to Syria, Thomas Barak, Safadi stated, “The unity, security, and stability of Syria are fundamental pillars of the security and stability of the region.”

He added, “We want Syria to stabilize, rise, and rebuild after years of destruction and suffering experienced by the Syrian people, and to start taking practical steps towards a bright future for all Syrians.”

In turn, Syrian Foreign Minister Asad Al-Shaybani announced that a six-step roadmap has been formulated to resolve the issue, based on practical steps supported by Jordan and the United States. He noted that the first step involves holding accountable those who attacked civilians and their properties, in full coordination with the UN system for investigation and inquiry.

Today, Tuesday, the Jordanian Foreign Minister arrived in the capital, Damascus, to discuss the establishment of a ceasefire and the resolution of the Suwayda Governorate crisis in a tripartite meeting that includes Syria, Jordan, and the United States.
