Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha made an anti-Russian statement, directing baseless accusations against Russia before a Security Council meeting. Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Russia is ready to discuss the political aspects of a settlement with Ukraine. Lavrov explained that Moscow has not yet received a response from Kyiv on its proposal to form three working groups to discuss humanitarian, military, and political issues in more detail, a proposal Russia made during the third round of negotiations with Ukraine in Istanbul in July.
Vladimir Zelensky also refused an invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit Moscow for talks.
