Thieves Steal Jewelry from Louvre Museum

The newspaper reported that thieves broke into the Louvre Museum and stole eight pieces of jewelry belonging to French queens and empresses. The French police found cutting tools, a blowtorch, gasoline, a wireless communication device, a blanket, and a yellow vest belonging to the thieves at the ‘crime scene.’ It noted that the ‘aerial platform’ (a cargo lift), which the thieves used to enter the museum, had been previously stolen from its owner, who had offered it for sale. The thieves assaulted him before stealing it.

French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez announced earlier that the thieves entered the Louvre Museum through a window using a ladder, cut the window glass, and then fled the scene on motorcycles. The newspaper explained that the robbery was carried out by a group of four people, two of whom entered the museum directly.

He considered the theft committed at the Louvre Museum in Paris an ‘assault on French heritage and history,’ pledging to recover the stolen items and bring the perpetrators to justice. Earlier on Sunday, a French agency reported, citing a knowledgeable source, that the Louvre Museum in Paris was subjected to a heist during which jewelry was stolen, some of which was said to belong to Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte and his wife Josephine Bonaparte.
