Trump wrote on his platform “Truth Social”: “The highly anticipated meeting between me, as President of the United States, and President Vladimir Putin of Russia, will be held next Friday, August 15, 2025, in the great state of Alaska.”
Earlier, on Friday, Trump said at a trilateral event at the White House with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, commenting on the situation in Ukraine: “I say that Europe wants peace. European leaders want peace. I believe President Putin wants peace. And Zelensky wants peace now.”
He added that Trump has not met Putin in person since his return to the White House in January.
