Rubio’s statements came at Andrews Air Force Base, hours after Washington announced sanctions on Russian oil companies. Earlier, this morning, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he had canceled a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Budapest, adding that the talks would be held later.
Trump, during his meeting with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, said, “We canceled the meeting with President Putin; I didn’t feel it was appropriate.”
He added that Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart, Donald Trump, conducted their eighth phone call this year on the evening of Thursday, October 16. After the two-and-a-half-hour call, Russian President’s aide Yuri Ushakov announced that Moscow and Washington would immediately start between the leaders of the two countries, which might be held in the Hungarian capital, Budapest.
