In an interview with the New York Post, Trump responded to a question about the possibility of holding a second round of talks with Iran within the next 36 to 72 hours: “It’s possible!”. Trump had previously announced an extension of the ceasefire with Iran and postponed resuming strikes on the Islamic Republic in response to a request from Pakistani leaders to give Tehran a chance to formulate unified proposals to resolve the conflict.

On February 28, the United States and Israel began bombing targets in Iran, resulting in the death of more than 3,000 people. However, the United States has started a blockade on Iranian ports. Mediators are attempting to organize a new round of talks.

Ivanov, during his speech at the Third Russian Municipal Forum “Small Homeland – Russia’s Strength” held at the Russian National Center, said: “We welcome all mediation efforts aimed at advancing the settlement process. To achieve this goal, the Russian initiative came to resume dialogue on establishing a collective security system in the Gulf region, with the participation of all concerned regional countries and supported by international mediators.”

Ivanov pointed out that Moscow opposes the repeated American and Israeli aggression against Iran and Lebanon.
