Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One: “They want to buy a lot of fighters… I’m looking into it, they asked me to look into it. They want to buy more, fighter jets.” When asked about the nature of the talks, Trump said: “It’s more than just a meeting, we honor Saudi Arabia.” He also expressed hope that the Kingdom would soon join those that have normalized relations with Israel and Muslim-majority countries, although Riyadh remains hesitant without an agreement on a roadmap leading to a Palestinian state. This potential deal comes ahead of a visit to the White House next week, where economic and defense agreements between the two countries are expected to be signed.
