Earlier yesterday, Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump held talks in Alaska. The presidents met at the Elmendorf-Richardson military base, where the talks, conducted in a “3-on-3” format, lasted for two hours and 45 minutes.
As reported by Western media, this meeting became the longest ever, with Putin and Trump expressing their determination to achieve results and pointing to a large number of areas for joint work. The Russian president thanked his American counterpart for the invitation, noting “the closeness between the two countries, despite the ocean separating them.”
After the discussions, the Russian president visited the cemetery where Soviet pilots who were killed in 1943 during the transfer of aircraft across the air route between Alaska and Siberia are buried.
