Tuchel Linked to Manchester United Amid Turbulent Start to the Season

Reports from the English press indicate that Thomas Tuchel, the German coach recently dismissed from Chelsea, was a strong candidate over the summer to replace Dutchman Erik ten Hag, the current manager of Manchester United. Last season, Ten Hag led the team to an eighth-place finish in the Premier League, salvaging his position thanks to a late triumph in the FA Cup.
These same sources revealed that Tuchel was not keen on the opportunity, which prompted the ‘Red Devils’ to retain Ten Hag for this season, potentially hoping he could guide the squad to better results.
However, the current season has started disappointingly for United. Out of their first three Premier League matches, they have suffered defeats to Brighton and Liverpool, managing only a single win against Fulham, which leaves them with just 3 points.
The struggles at Old Trafford have led veteran French star William Gallas, a former defender for both Arsenal and Chelsea, to suggest that United’s management should consider inviting Tuchel to take the helm if Ten Hag is let go this season.
Gallas remarked on a betting platform: “It’s possible that Tuchel could be the solution for Manchester United’s issues if he is given the opportunity and enough time—at least two years—to build a new team capable of reaping the rewards of championships and titles. This way, the club would be in a much better position than it currently is.”
He further noted Tuchel’s success at Chelsea, saying: “The German was very organized at Chelsea, earning the respect of all players. He succeeded in leading them to victory in the UEFA Champions League among other titles.”

Gallas emphasized: “We fully understand why Tuchel thrived at Chelsea, even though he didn’t have sufficient time to fully transform the club. The reality is he possesses the qualities of a strong-willed coach with excellent tactical insight.”
It’s worth mentioning that under Ten Hag, United is keen to relieve some pressure off the team as they aim for a victory against Southampton in their next Premier League match this Saturday, especially since Southampton finds itself in a precarious position, having secured no points so far in the competition.
