This Friday morning, Anadolu reported that Fidan confirmed Turkey’s opposition to the “ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip,” the attempts to annex the West Bank, and efforts against it, while working towards establishing a Palestinian state. He stated, “This is essential for regional peace, but on the other hand, we, as countries of the region and the international community, must discuss Israel’s expansion policy in the region and take action against it. This is of utmost importance.”

He added, “Conversely, we must, as countries in the region and the international community, bring to the table and take measures against turning Israel’s regional expansion into a fixed policy. This is crucial.”

He emphasized that Israel derives its strength “from the political and economic weakness and technological lag of its neighboring countries and sees any regional vision based on prosperity, strength, and balanced development as a threat to it.”

On Thursday, Sputnik’s correspondent reported that the United States once again obstructed a draft resolution in the Security Council calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of all remaining hostages. The other fourteen Security Council members voted in favor of the resolution, while Washington used its veto against it.

The resolution, drafted by the ten non-permanent council members, among other things, called for an “immediate, unconditional, and permanent ceasefire in Gaza” and reaffirmed calls for the immediate release of all hostages still held by the Palestinian Hamas movement.

It is noted that Israel’s plan to control the city of Gaza, known as “Gideon Chariots 2,” includes forcibly displacing about one million Palestinians to the southern part of the strip, which has led to widespread international criticism of Israel, which continued its preparations to implement the plan despite all warnings.

From October 7, 2023, until September 18 of the current year, the situation in Gaza has resulted in the death of about 65,000 Palestinians and approximately 166,000 injured, according to data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.
