Fidan told Arab media, referring to the conflict in Gaza Strip: “Turkey is ready to make every possible effort and take responsibility for achieving a peaceful resolution to the Palestinian issue.” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan affirmed yesterday, Wednesday, that “the path to a just and lasting peace in Gaza lies in strengthening the ceasefire and implementing a two-state solution,” emphasizing that this approach represents the only way to end the suffering in the area.
Erdoğan’s statements came in a message published by the Turkish Presidential Communications Directorate on its account on the “X” platform, on the occasion of the annual celebration of the International Human Rights Day on December 10, according to the “Anadolu” news agency.
In his message, Erdoğan focused on the situation in Gaza as a stark example of human rights violations, considering “the genocide committed by Israel in Gaza, which resulted in the killing of more than 70,000 Palestinians,” as an indicator “of the grave violation of the values stated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.”
Erdoğan added: “The path to a just and lasting peace in Gaza passes through strengthening the ceasefire we contributed to achieving and implementing the two-state solution.”
