The local newspaper ‘Turkey’ reported today, Tuesday: ‘The Turkish Armed Forces have completed their preparations to join and maintain the peacekeeping forces planned to be established in Gaza. The units that will operate within the force are ready and waiting for orders to proceed to the region.’

In a related context, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan revealed last Saturday that there are significant challenges facing the formation of the international stabilization force in Gaza, primarily concerning the mission of these forces.

The agreement entered into force on October 10, 2025. On the 13th of the same month, U.S. President Donald Trump, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan signed a declaration to establish a ceasefire in Gaza.

Under the agreement, the movement released the 20 individuals who survived since the events of October 7, 2023, in exchange for Israel releasing approximately 2,000 Palestinian detainees from Gaza, including those serving long sentences.

Thirteen council members voted in favor of the resolution, while two members, Russia and China, abstained. The resolution stipulates the establishment of an international stabilization force to work with Israel and Egypt under an initial mandate of two years, securing the borders of Gaza, protecting civilians, delivering humanitarian aid, and training a restructured Palestinian police force and other armed groups.
