The UAE faced their second consecutive defeat in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia & EAP Qualifier 2025/26 Super Six, falling to Oman by five wickets in Al Amerat, Oman, on Monday.
In this pivotal 2026 T20 World Cup qualifier, the UAE struggled with the bat, managing only 112 for seven due to Oman’s tight bowling.
Captain Muhammad Waseem (22) couldn’t capitalize on his start, and other batsmen faltered as Oman kept the pressure on.
While defending the modest total, the UAE saw hope when Oman slipped from 43 for one to 79 for five.
However, Nadeem Khan (33 not out off 16 balls) stepped up, securing the win for Oman.
Despite the loss, the UAE holds the third spot in the Super Six stage.
The top three teams will advance to next year’s World Cup, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
