The UAE previously announced the 2025 theme for Emirati Women’s Day: ‘Hand in Hand, Celebrating the 50th,’ commemorating five decades since the General Women’s Union’s inception in 1975.

Emirati Women’s Day annually marks a time to evaluate progress, renew gender equality commitments, and celebrate achievements nationwide.

This year’s theme aligns with the national initiative declaring 2025 the Year of Community, launched by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, focusing on social cohesion and recognizing women’s crucial role in national development.

Announced by Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, the theme emphasizes the UAE’s inclusive approach to women’s empowerment, highlighting shared responsibility and unity across all sectors.

It also celebrates the contributions of Emirati women over the years and reinforces the commitment to continue advancing their roles in the nation’s future.

Since its establishment, the General Women’s Union has empowered women through programs rooted in national identity and community values.
