In his national address for the 54th Eid Al Etihad, Sheikh Mohamed emphasized the critical role of future generations in propelling UAE’s progress and innovation.
He stressed the significance of preserving the UAE’s national identity, values, and Arabic language, highlighting that protecting these pillars is a collective duty shared by society and key institutions, especially those focused on education, culture, and social development.
“Maintaining our national identity, values, ethics, and Arabic language is a top national priority and a fundamental duty for every society member. It’s crucial for institutions tasked with education, cultural growth, and social nurturing to lead in this mission. I urge these institutions to prioritize the moral and ethical development of our youth,” he stated.
Sheikh Mohamed described December 2 as a pivotal moment in UAE history, marking Eid Al Etihad as a period of pride, unity, and inspiration across generations.
He remarked that the occasion is not only a celebration of UAE’s founding but also an opportunity to reflect, learn, and recommit to creating a brighter future.
“We renew our oath — before God, to ourselves, and to our people — to work sincerely and diligently to ensure the UAE remains, as the late Sheikh Zayed envisioned, a nation characterized by excellence, progress, and broad purpose.”
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai, Prime Minister, and Vice-President, also shared a message for the UAE’s 54th Eid Al Etihad. He began by offering “heartfelt greetings and congratulations” to UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the rulers of other emirates, and the UAE people.
In his message, Sheikh Mohammed spoke about the UAE’s founding fathers and how, in 1971, they demonstrated a “unique model of unity” with the nation’s creation. He mentioned that annually, UAE citizens “remember with profound gratitude the architects of our Union, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, and their fellow founding fathers.” He added that this founding generation continues to inspire future generations, with their legacy living on in the nation’s people today.
