The UAE continues its humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people in Gaza by executing the 81st aid airdrop under the ‘Birds of Goodness Operation’, in collaboration with Jordan, Germany, and Indonesia.
This shipment contained essential food supplies, organized with the help of Emirati charitable organizations to address the urgent needs of the population amid Gaza’s severe humanitarian crisis.
With this airdrop, the total aid delivered by air through this operation has exceeded 4,076 tonnes of food and essential supplies, reinforcing the UAE’s steadfast commitment to supporting Palestinians and enhancing their resilience.
These efforts underscore the UAE’s leadership in international relief, fostering regional and global collaboration, and emphasizing the nation’s dedication to easing the suffering of those impacted by crises.
Gaza’s Starving Children Face Dire Situation
The hunger crisis in Gaza has reached a critical stage, with severely low stocks of fortified milk and nutritious pastes worsening food shortages and increasing child starvation rates, as reported by aid agencies, nutrition experts, and the United Nations.
Nearly two years post Israel’s invasion, famine was officially declared in parts of Gaza for the first time on Friday, with almost a quarter of the population facing starvation, according to the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), the primary global hunger monitoring body working with the U.N. and other aid agencies.
