The UAE has offered heartfelt condolences and support to Iraq following the devastating floods and heavy rains that impacted areas in the Sulaymaniyah and Kirkuk Governorates of the Kurdistan Region, resulting in numerous casualties and injuries.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) issued a statement extending its sincere condolences and sympathy to the victims’ families, as well as to the Iraqi government and people, also wishing a quick recovery for those injured.

AFP reported that floods in northern Iraq claimed at least three lives, including that of a child, according to local authorities. A significant bridge that linked the northern city of Kirkuk to Baghdad also collapsed.
Flights were briefly suspended due to thick fog reducing visibility at Baghdad International Airport and other airports.
