The British Ambassador in Cairo explained in a statement reported by the Egyptian newspaper “Al-Shorouk” that this decision comes as part of coordinated international efforts aimed at building consensus around a framework for peace. This framework is intended to lay the foundations for a two-state solution by addressing issues of governance, security, aid delivery, and monitoring a ceasefire.
Bryson emphasized that the UK will continue to work closely with Egypt and other allies to achieve lasting peace. The ambassador added, “I look forward to working closely with the Egyptian government as our countries pursue this mutual goal.”
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin stated on Sunday that Israel will oppose and fight against calls for the establishment of a Palestinian state, claiming it “threatens Israel’s existence.” It is noteworthy that the two-state solution is a political proposal aiming to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict by establishing two independent states: a Palestinian state along the borders of June 4, 1967, alongside the state of Israel, which aligns with the vision of the international community.
