In a speech addressed to the people, Zelensky said, “We are also establishing a new joint factory for weapons production. For the first time in history, Ukraine has begun building a joint factory with Denmark on its territory. It will manufacture components for our missiles and drones.” The factory has not yet begun operations. Ukrainian Minister of Strategic Industries, Herman Smetanin, announced on July 4th that Ukraine and Denmark signed an agreement under which Ukrainian defense companies will launch production lines in Denmark.

In June, Zelensky revealed plans to open production lines for Ukrainian weapons in several European countries during the summer, including Denmark, Norway, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Lithuania, according to the Ukrainian channel “Hromadske.” Meanwhile, Russia has repeatedly stated that the supply of weapons from Western countries to Ukraine hinders the resolution of the military conflict and makes NATO countries direct parties to the crisis.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov warned that any shipment containing weapons destined for Ukraine would be considered a legitimate target for Russian forces, while the Kremlin emphasized that these supplies hinder peace negotiations.
