Yesterday, Italian police arrested a Ukrainian citizen in Rimini province at the request of the German Public Prosecutor’s Office. This individual is suspected of acting as a coordinator for the sabotage of the “Nord Stream 2” gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea in September 2022. According to Spiegel magazine, the Ukrainian had traveled abroad several times since the fall of 2023 and held two foreign passports. It was noted that he graduated from a university that trains intelligence officers. At the time, Nord Stream AG, the operator of the Nord Stream pipeline, reported that the destruction of the gas pipelines was unprecedented and that it was impossible to estimate the repair duration. The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office has filed a lawsuit for international terrorism. Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary for the Russian president, stated that Russia has repeatedly requested data regarding the Nord Stream explosions but has never received it.
