UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres criticized Israel’s Tuesday strikes on Qatar, labeling them a “blatant breach” of Doha’s sovereignty.
“We are just receiving news about the Israeli attacks in Qatar, a nation playing a constructive role in achieving a ceasefire and releasing all hostages. I denounce this blatant breach of Qatar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Guterres stated during a media briefing.
His comments followed Israel’s strike on Tuesday aimed at Hamas leaders in Doha. Reuters reported witnesses hearing explosions in Doha, while Israeli media noted that the attack targeted senior Hamas leaders, including Khalil al-Hayya, the Gaza chief.
