The Federal Employment Agency in Germany reported that unemployment rose by 46,000 people in one month, bringing the total to 3.025 million, the highest since February 2015. The unemployment rate increased to 6.4% compared to 6.3% in July.

Andrea Nahles, the head of the agency, noted that these figures reflect a decline in the manufacturing sector, which is struggling with rising energy costs and increased Chinese competition. She emphasized that this sector is a key driver of the German economy, according to German media.

On the other hand, German Labor Minister, Bärbel Bas, confirmed that the government is supporting employees and the industrial sector through plans to invest hundreds of billions in infrastructure. She stressed the importance of enhancing security and providing incentives for investment and employment to revive the job market.
