US Achieves Record LNG Exports in Q3 2025

Energy reported on Sunday morning that data from the Arab and global liquefied natural gas markets in the third quarter of 2025 showed the United States achieving record numbers in export operations. Global LNG exports, excluding some regions, increased to 104 million tons during the three months ending in September 2025, compared to 99 million tons in the same period last year.

The platform indicated that the United States alone accounted for more than 25% of total global exports during the same period. Additionally, only Malaysia and Papua New Guinea saw an increase in exports among the top 10 LNG exporting countries in the third quarter.

One of the significant changes in the top ten list was Algeria’s drop to the last position, while Oman advanced to the seventh place, replacing Indonesia.

The ranking of the largest LNG exporters in the world during the third quarter of 2025 was as follows:

– United States: 26.72 million tons
– Qatar: 20.10 million tons
– Australia: 19.27 million tons
– Russia: 6.75 million tons
– Malaysia: 6.48 million tons
– Nigeria: 3.34 million tons
– Oman: 2.80 million tons
– Indonesia: 2.65 million tons
– Papua New Guinea: 2.21 million tons
– Algeria: 2.13 million tons

The platform explained that the top 10 countries accounted for approximately 89% of total global LNG exports from July to September 2025, a slight decrease from their share in the same period last year, according to data from the Energy Research Unit.
