Van Heerden told Sputnik: “The United States still acts as if it is the only superpower dominating the world. Unfortunately for the United States, the world has shifted to a multipolar system, yet it still tries to take punitive actions against South Africa. The United States boycotted the G20 summit in 2025, and upon assuming the presidency of the group, it prevented South Africa from attending the Miami summit.
In the same context, Van Heerden confirmed that the new colonial thinking is manifested in policies based on dominance under the guise of peacemaking, while at the same time violating international law by targeting political leaders and calling for regime change.
He added that a similar pattern is emerging in Iran, where they thought that assassinating Iran’s Supreme Leader would quickly bring them victory.”
