Al-Ulbi stated that the talks that took place were monitored by US President Donald Trump, aiming to address the security concerns of both parties, according to Arab news sites. The Syrian representative emphasized his country’s commitment to peaceful and diplomatic means as a top priority in handling issues.
Al-Ulbi stressed in his statements that “these talks with Israel do not in any way address the fate of the occupied Syrian Golan.” Al-Shaibani emphasized that this constitutes a blatant violation of Syrian sovereignty and international law, calling on the international community to put an end to these ongoing violations.
The minister urged the United Nations and the Arab League to intervene and assume their responsibilities in stopping Israeli aggressions, asserting that international silence encourages Israel to continue breaching international laws and norms. Israeli army attacks on Syria have escalated significantly following the departure of Assad’s government on December 8, with Israel launching hundreds of raids on Syrian army military sites, aiming to destroy them and prevent the rehabilitation of their infrastructure, coinciding with operations where the occupying army took control of the buffer zone, then moved to conduct raids in the border areas.
