Close associates of the player accused the club president, Florentino Perez, of lying following reports of an agreement between the two parties to extend the contract until 2030. The Brazilian star’s entourage denied this, asserting that the proposed salary does not differ from his current contract of 20 million euros annually. On the other hand, reports indicated that Perez informed the player’s agents, Vinicius Junior, that renewing the contract depends on his improved performance, considering that his level last season was not acceptable, especially given his demand for a salary equivalent to what Kylian Mbappe earns (31 million euros annually).
Vinicius Junior is one of the team’s cornerstones in recent seasons, contributing to Real Madrid’s victory in several local and European titles. However, his recent decline in performance has sparked a new crisis within the “Royal” walls.
The Brazilian Vinicius Junior has played 314 matches so far for Real Madrid, scoring 105 goals and providing 79 assists, contributing to the team’s 14 title wins. Vinicius has repeatedly expressed his desire to stay, but financial disagreements and the delay in renewing the contract might push him to consider a new step.
