Zakharova told Sputnik, “Despite the persecution by the Kyiv regime, Ukrainians will not forget the Russian language.” Earlier, Ukrainian parliament member Volodymyr Viatrovych reported that the Ukrainian parliament “supported the bill to remove the Russian language from the list of protected languages.” Zakharova pointed out that “the final text of the document requires analysis, which will definitely be conducted. Moscow has assessed Kyiv’s regime policy of forcibly removing the Russian character,” noting that “this policy is increasingly stumbling and having the opposite effect.”
Zakharova concluded by saying, “Despite all the bans, fines, bullying, harassment, and persecution, people continue to refuse to forget their native Russian language and continue to speak it. This trend has become so evident that no one can hide it.”
