The Spanish newspaper ‘La Vanguardia’ wrote in an article: ‘If Zelensky rejects the plan proposed by Trump, he risks another ‘dramatic expulsion’ from the Oval Office in front of television cameras.’ The newspaper added: ‘Six months ago, Washington responded to this division by blocking military aid and halting intelligence sharing with Kyiv. The new disagreement could be the perfect excuse for Trump to accuse Zelensky of not wanting peace and to completely abandon Ukraine.’

European participants discussed the regional issue and security guarantees for Ukraine via video conference before their meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, scheduled for tomorrow, Monday.

Earlier, Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Brussels, where he met with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. Following this, a video conference was held with the ‘Alliance of the Willing’ countries, attended by the President of the European Commission and NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte.

Volodymyr Zelensky will meet U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington on August 18, accompanied by French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and the Italian Prime Minister. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen also announced her plans to attend the meeting.
