During the show, the young wrestler attempted to grab the bull’s horn to demonstrate his bravery. However, the enraged animal violently threw him into the air before he crashed forcefully against the arena wall, amidst the screams and astonishment of the spectators. Emergency teams quickly transported him to the hospital, where he was placed in the intensive care unit due to severe head injuries. Sadly, efforts to save him were unsuccessful, and the young man passed away hours after the incident.
The incident caused a widespread shock in sports and public circles, reopening the debate about the tradition of bullfighting in Portugal. This tradition is supported by some who see it as part of the heritage, while others oppose it, considering it a threat to both human and animal life.
