At just eleven, Navaneeth Shreejith, a Grade 6 student at GEMS Cambridge International School, Abu Dhabi, won the hearts of many at the 2025 Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) with his first children’s comic book, “Electrizer: Destiny Starts,” published by Chiranthana Publications, UAE.
The launch event at Expo Centre Sharjah featured esteemed guests, including Hari Kumar, chairman and managing director of Elite Group of Companies, UAE; Raman V, chairman and managing director of GBH International Group, Dubai; and P K Mohandas, a prominent social worker.
Navaneeth delivered a speech during the event, discussing his inspirations and his dream to inspire creativity in young readers. The book, “Electrizer: Destiny Starts,” offers an exciting mix of friendship, adventure, and self-belief, combining captivating storytelling with positive life lessons.
A passionate reader and storyteller from a young age, Navaneeth has always been drawn to books, art, and creativity. He loves drawing and insisted on illustrating his comic himself. “Electrizer: Destiny Starts” is the product of 11 months of hard work, from writing to illustrating each page. Navaneeth believes a book should fully reflect the author’s creative vision, from story to artwork, and this project is a testament to that belief.
Navaneeth is the son of Dr. Sreejith, a cardiologist at Ahalya Hospital, Abu Dhabi, and Revathi, an engineer. His family expressed their pride and gratitude for the recognition he received at such a prestigious literary event, marking a proud milestone in his early writing career.
The book, already available in India, has been well-received by children and parents for its engaging narrative and inspiring message.
Organized annually by the Sharjah Book Authority, the Sharjah International Book Fair is one of the world’s largest literary events, promoting reading, creativity, and cultural exchange. The launch of a young author’s debut work at this global event underscores the growing talent and imagination of the UAE’s younger generation, marking the start of a promising literary journey for Navaneeth.
