Polling stations across the republic opened their doors this morning to welcome citizens to cast their votes in the 2025 elections. Voter turnout has been ongoing since early morning, although it decreased during the afternoon hours when temperatures rise significantly. The early hours of the morning witnessed notable turnout in many polling stations, especially in governorates, centers, and villages across the republic.
The Senate elections are being held domestically on August 4 and 5, with 428 candidates competing for 100 seats allocated for the individual system. Meanwhile, a single list, ‘For Egypt,’ has been nominated for each of the four districts dedicated to the list system, with 100 candidates for 100 seats in this system.
According to the National Election Authority’s statistics, approximately 63 million registered Egyptian voters are eligible to vote in the 2025 Senate elections. They have been distributed across 8,286 polling stations, including schools, health units, and youth centers, to facilitate access for citizens wishing to vote. This process involves the participation of 9,500 judges from the Administrative Prosecution Authority and the State Litigation Authority, who have been distributed to committees in their places of residence. Additionally, there are 2,500 female judges supervising the elections.
