Al-Houthi Praises Sacrifices for Palestine

In a televised speech today, Thursday, Al-Houthi stated that the “Hezbollah” front in Lebanon was at the forefront of those who made great sacrifices, led by the party’s leader Hassan Nasrallah. He added that Iran has made significant and steadfast sacrifices in supporting Palestine.

Al-Houthi extended his condolences to the family of Major General Mohammed Al-Ghamari, Chief of Staff of the armed forces affiliated with the group, who was announced killed after being wounded in an Israeli raid against leaders of the group last August. Al-Houthi noted that Al-Ghamari played a prominent role in supporting Gaza, pointing out that “his comrades continue on the same path in confronting Israeli aggression.”

He added: “The Israeli occupation failed to recover its captives without a prisoner exchange deal, and despite its enormous crimes, the enemy could not break the will of the Palestinian people and its fighters.” The leader also criticized what he described as “continuous violations and the reduction of humanitarian aid, which is a right for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.”

Egypt hosted a peace summit last Monday in Sharm El-Sheikh, chaired by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and his American counterpart Donald Trump, with the participation of leaders and delegations from about 20 countries. Over two years of continuous Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, the area has been devastated from the far south to the north, destroying the medical sector, schools, universities, places of worship, infrastructure, and vital resources that sustain life in the region.

Estimates indicate that the war has resulted in the deaths of about 70,000 Palestinians and around 170,000 injuries. Based on what was agreed upon in Sharm El-Sheikh, Hamas released live Israeli prisoners in exchange for about 2,000 Palestinian prisoners who were released. Bodies of the dead were exchanged with Israel, but some bodies have not yet been retrieved due to difficulty accessing them.
