The meeting discussed the significance of this medal awarded to Dr. Al-Qawas under the slogan “For friendship and cooperation to enhance mutual understanding between nations.” The composer described this recognition as a “true honor,” as it comes from a great nation whose music and cultural history have contributed to shaping global artistic awareness. In her conversation with “Sputnik,” she emphasized that “musical diplomacy” has proven its ability to build bridges and open doors between peoples and civilizations, sometimes more effectively than the language of politics. She concluded her talk by highlighting the “administrative miracle” achieved at the Lebanese National Conservatory and its ability to maintain the continuity of this institution and develop its orchestras despite the harsh conditions Lebanon is going through.
