During his meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Thursday, Al-Yahya stated, “The Palestinian issue is at the heart of his country’s priorities, and there will be no permanent stability without ending the Israeli occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4.” Al-Yahya expressed his hope that the upcoming Russian-Arab summit will yield fruitful results in terms of cooperation and relations between both sides.
He added, “What unites us with Russia is more than common interests, but also shared visions and positions,” praising Russia’s stance on the Palestinian issue, which supports putting an end to the cycle of conflict in Gaza and paving the way for launching a serious political process that restores hope to the Palestinian people.”
