The presidency affiliated with “Ansar Allah” stated in a declaration: “We announce the martyrdom of the mujahid Ahmed Ghalib Al-Rahwi, the Prime Minister in the Government of Change and Construction, along with several of his ministerial colleagues. The Israeli enemy targeted the Prime Minister and several of his ministerial colleagues during a routine workshop to assess the government’s activities and performance over the past year.” The group emphasized that the government will continue its operations despite the loss of its head and several ministers, stressing that institutions will persist in fulfilling their duties and serving citizens, and that “the blood of the martyr leaders will be.” Ansar Allah reiterated its commitment to continue supporting Gaza and backing the oppressed Palestinian people, considering that targeting its leaders will not deter it from enhancing the capabilities of its armed forces in facing challenges and threats.
A Yemeni source told Sputnik: “It targeted Jabal Attan, which houses the missile brigades’ headquarters southwest of the city, Al-Nahdin camp in the presidential complex, the Central Security Forces camp in the Seventy area south of Sana’a, and the Ministry of Interior headquarters in the Hasbah area north of Sana’a.” The Israeli army stated: “The air force has just precisely targeted a military objective of the Houthi regime in the Sana’a area.” It continued: “Since the beginning of the war, the Houthi regime has acted aggressively with Iranian direction and funding to attack Israel and its allies and destabilize regional stability and disrupt international navigation freedom.”
In the same context, Israeli Army Radio reported that the army’s raids on Sana’a, Yemen, “aimed to assassinate political leaders from the Ansar Allah group,” adding that “some of the attacks in Sana’a targeted buildings believed to be housing leaders of the Ansar Allah group.” Later, Israeli media reported that a number of Ansar Allah leaders were at the site targeted by Israel, and Channel 12 quoted an Israeli source as saying that the assassinations were planned at the beginning of the current week, as part of the previous wave of raids and were executed today.
At the end of July, Abdel Malek Al-Houthi revealed that his forces had launched 1,679 missiles, drones, and warboats at Israel and ships associated with it and the US and UK, since November 2023. Since Tel Aviv resumed its military operations in the Gaza Strip on March 18, Ansar Allah in Yemen intensified its attacks on Israel and ships linked to it and the United States and Britain, prompting the US forces to carry out hundreds of airstrikes on the group’s sites in Yemen, before the group and Washington reached a ceasefire agreement on May 6, but Ansar Allah confirmed that the agreement does not include operations against Israel.
