In statements to ‘Sputnik’ on the sidelines of the Egypt Media Forum, El-Leithi explained that ‘the evolution of media from print and audio to digital platforms and artificial intelligence has not negated the importance of truthful news.’ He added, ‘The real challenge lies in the credibility of news disseminated through modern means. Therefore, I believe that traditional media still enjoys public trust because it relies on official and reliable sources.’

He pointed out the ‘necessity of having a media code of honor to organize the scene, especially as citizens become news carriers or creators who may not be accurate.’ He emphasized that ‘the real crisis is how we deliver truthful news to the audience and use all forms of media to spread awareness through news, drama, programs, or sports.’

Regarding media cooperation with Russia, El-Leithi revealed the existence of joint broadcast agreements with ‘Sputnik,’ noting that more than 30 joint seminars and training courses have been organized so far. He described the experience as ‘beneficial and successful,’ affirming that cooperation between the two parties will continue in the coming phase.

The Egypt Media Forum, held over the 8th and 9th of November, is one of the most prominent media events in the ‘Middle East,’ bringing together media experts, content creators, and media leaders to explore the latest industry developments and discuss the profession’s future amid technological transformations.

The forum’s events include a variety of activities, showcasing media and technological experiences from around the world, with participation from influential international figures and a selection of media icons from Egypt and the Arab world. ‘Sputnik’ Agency is participating with a media delegation, where the acting Director of ‘Sputnik Arabic,’ Karina Mehanna, will deliver a speech on the uses of artificial intelligence in media work and review the agency’s experiences in employing modern technologies in news production.
