Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta lamented defensive mistakes that halted the Gunners’ 10-game winning streak as Brian Brobbey’s last-minute goal secured Sunderland a thrilling 2-2 draw against the Premier League leaders. Meanwhile, Manchester United also managed a 2-2 draw at Tottenham on Saturday.

Ex-Arsenal defender Dan Ballard gave Sunderland the lead with a strong shot in the 36th minute at the Stadium of Light, ending Arsenal’s impressive run of eight consecutive clean sheets.

Bukayo Saka equalized with a calm finish in the 54th minute, followed by Leandro Trossard’s powerful shot that put Arsenal ahead in the 76th minute.

Arsenal was close to an 11th consecutive victory across all competitions, but Brobbey scored from Ballard’s header in the fourth minute of stoppage time, securing a draw.

This marked Arsenal’s first non-win since a 1-1 draw with Manchester City on September 21.

“We conceded two similar goals, which is not acceptable,” Arteta remarked. “However, we demonstrated incredible resilience and bravery to come back. Even after conceding, we had a great chance to win.”

Chasing their first English title since 2004, Arsenal maintains a six-point lead over second-placed Chelsea, who triumphed 3-0 against Wolves.

City could narrow the gap to four points if they defeat champions Liverpool on Sunday at the Etihad Stadium.

Liverpool could move within five points of Arsenal with a victory over City.

At Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Bryan Mbeumo put United ahead in the 32nd minute amid growing discontent from home fans.

Booed off at half-time, Tottenham rallied to secure a dramatic lead after Mathys Tel equalized in the 84th minute, followed by Richarlison’s deflected goal in the 91st minute.

But United defender Matthijs de Ligt’s powerful 96th-minute header extended their unbeaten run to five games.

Tottenham’s inability to maintain the lead was another setback to their poor 2025 home league record, with just one win in six top-flight matches.

Neither manager was pleased with the result. United boss Ruben Amorim stated, “We have a lot of growth ahead as a team; today was our day to win. With a bit more courage, we could have sealed the game.”

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank added, “We could have done many things better. The last goal was about urgency; perhaps not giving away the cross and defending better.”

Joao Pedro increased the lead and Pedro Neto secured Chelsea’s fourth win in their last five league games.

West Ham bolstered their fight against relegation with a 3-2 victory over Burnley at the London Stadium.

Burnley took the lead in the 35th minute through Zian Flemming, but Callum Wilson equalized in the 44th minute, and Tomas Soucek scored in the 77th minute.

Kyle Walker-Peters’ 87th-minute goal ensured Josh Cullen’s late strike was merely a consolation for Burnley.

West Ham’s second consecutive win moved them level on points with Burnley, who are fourth from bottom.

Everton ended a three-game winless streak with a 2-0 win over Fulham at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, with Idrissa Gueye and Michael Keane scoring for David Moyes’ side.
