In partnership with Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), Aster Volunteers are sending 20,000 food kits to aid families in Gaza. This initiative, worth Dh2.5 million, will be delivered in two batches of 10,000 kits each.
The first batch of 10,000 kits is already packed and ready for dispatch. Each kit includes 15 essential food items like rice, pasta, canned tuna, lentils, milk powder, cooking oil, and biscuits, sufficient to support a family of three to four, benefiting approximately 30,000 individuals per shipment.
Additional essentials in the kits are tea, basmati rice, salt, sugar, chickpeas, pineapple juice, canned meat, kidney beans, and storage cartons. Shipments typically leave from Khalifa Port and are expected to reach Gaza by the end of October. The second batch will also contain the same number of kits and beneficiaries.

Aster staff, including doctors, pharmacists, nursing staff, and operations teams, participated in the packing process. At Jaleel Cash and Carry’s warehouse, twelve Aster Volunteers joined the effort. “Being involved in the packaging and dispatch of these ration kits has been deeply fulfilling,” said Bharatha Raj, an Aster Volunteer.
“We collaborated closely with Emirates Red Crescent at the warehouse, ensuring each kit was packed with care to support families in Gaza. Witnessing the scale of this initiative and knowing it will aid thousands reinforces the impact volunteers can have when united for a cause.”

The consignments, roughly 300 pallets in total, are being sent to ERC’s warehouse in Dubai Industrial City. From there, ERC will repackage the items and manage shipping with guidance from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the military.

This is not their first such initiative. Aster Volunteers, alongside ERC, have already launched two mobile medical services operating in Gaza. Earlier this year, similar efforts supported Turkey and Syria, with donations of Dh2 million in medicines and 10,000 ration kits.
Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, stated: “At Aster DM Healthcare, we are dedicated to supporting those in need during humanitarian crises. In response to the situation in Gaza, we are ensuring 20,000 food kits reach families struggling to meet basic needs.

“Beyond providing essential supplies, we have deployed two Mobile Medical Services to deliver crucial healthcare to those affected. This initiative underscores our commitment to offering timely aid, care, and relief to distressed communities, and we will continue to support the people of Gaza in any way possible.”
