The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement obtained by ‘Sputnik,’ praised the positive progress made in the discussions between the American and Russian presidents regarding the Ukrainian crisis, considering it a constructive step towards a resolution that would end the conflict, ensure stability across the European continent, and enhance international peace and security.
President Donald Trump stated today, Saturday, that the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Friday was excellent. Trump wrote on his ‘Truth Social’ platform: ‘The meeting with President Vladimir went very well, as did the late-night phone call with President Zelensky and several European leaders, including NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.’
The American President added that everyone agreed that the best way to end the conflict is to move directly towards a peace agreement that would end the conflict, ‘not just a ceasefire agreement, which often does not hold.’ Trump noted that he would meet with Vladimir Zelensky in Washington at the Oval Office the day after tomorrow, Monday, explaining, ‘If things go as planned, we will then set a date for a meeting with President Putin.’
Trump said in an interview with the American channel ‘Fox News’: ‘Vladimir Zelensky must agree to the fact that he is losing a lot in the conflict with Russia.’ Earlier on Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald held talks in Alaska. The presidents met at the Elmendorf-Richardson military base, where the talks, conducted in a ‘3 versus 3’ format, lasted for two hours and 45 minutes.
