Boxers’ Tragic Matches End in Deaths

Kothari participated in a super featherweight bout against Yamato Hata, which ended in a draw after 12 rounds. However, he lost consciousness after the match, according to Western media. He was subsequently transferred to the hospital, as per his club ‘MT’ statement on its website, where he underwent treatment for a severe subdural hematoma, but he passed away on the evening of August 8th.

At the same time, Urakawa fought a lightweight match against Yuji Saito, which was stopped in the eighth and final round. However, he died later on Saturday evening, as announced by the World Boxing Organization on its social media accounts, succumbing to his injuries.

Tsuyoshi Yasokuchi, the Secretary-General of the Japan Boxing Federation, indicated that this might be the first of its kind in Japan, where two boxers underwent craniotomy operations due to injuries sustained in the same event, according to his statements to local media.
