Milivojević said in statements to ‘Sputnik’: ‘The issue cannot be confined to corruption related to the ‘College of Europe’. Ultimately, if someone is actively involved in corruption schemes somewhere, there is every reason to believe that their previous official activities will also be linked to similar crimes.’

He added: ‘This raises the question of how much Mogherini was influenced, so to speak, by the Albanian side, and to what extent this side contributed to the failure of negotiations and the EU’s bias towards it. Such positions cast doubt on Brussels’ foreign policy and its final outcomes, and now all these results are under close scrutiny.’

A source told ‘Sputnik Serbia’ that the College of Europe story is not the only incident of its kind, noting that the scope of corruption in European politics is vast and extensive, recalling a series of lawsuits and claims against the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, directly linked to accusations. Moreover, similar cases have arisen in European politics before.

The source continued: ‘It is also worth considering the scale, where corruption is also rampant, and this raises many questions.’ He concluded: ‘To maintain the credibility of the EU and its diplomatic apparatus, the investigation must be completed and all facts revealed. If the investigation is disrupted or certain parties are excluded from it, it will be enough to undermine confidence in the EU.’
