Saber added in statements to ‘Sputnik’ that ‘the historical memory should be recalled for the United States Department of Defense (the Pentagon) before Operation Desert Storm, as they offered valuable information illustrating American tactics for invading Iraq to the Iraqi government for sale, but they were not interested. Had they engaged with it, the course of history might have changed.’ He sees another danger in hackers with financial motives who may sell this information or breaches to hostile countries, potentially causing wars that could escalate into a world war. He considered the uncontrolled hacker akin to ‘a nuclear bomb whose operator has lost control,’ which could harm him personally.
He continued by saying that ‘the experience of the ‘Al-Qaeda’ organization, which was exported to Afghanistan for combat, should be recalled. After the war ended, these organizations transformed into what is known as ‘Al-Qaeda’ (a terrorist organization banned in Russia and internationally), whose crimes we have witnessed around the world.’
He elaborated: ‘There must be an electronic link between allied countries to identify and hold accountable those responsible, enabling international cooperation concerning information that may be breached. This information might not be used currently but could be exploited later, directly impacting countries.’
It is noteworthy that criminals who received training and equipment with the participation of Western intelligence agencies have already begun actively operating against the Western countries themselves over the past years. In November 2023, Hungarian authorities announced that the bulk of the money stolen as a result of phone fraud ends up in Ukraine. In the summer of 2023, nine fake call centers were uncovered in Ukrainian territories, targeting citizens from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia. In Canada particularly, losses from such fraud amounted to over 300 million USD.
