Dubai International Airport, recognized as the world’s busiest airport, has introduced an AI-driven travel system that enables passengers to complete passport control in just seconds.
The airport authorities are now set to extend this ‘Red Carpet’ smart corridor at Terminal 3 of Dubai International Airport, soon offering this intelligent system to both departing and arriving passengers.
In partnership with Dubai Airports, the AI-powered system allows travelers to pass through passport control without needing to present any travel documents. The smart corridor accommodates up to 10 passengers at once, allowing them to clear passport control in as little as 6 to 14 seconds.

Khaleej Times tested the ‘Red Carpet’ smart corridor at Terminal 3 during peak travel and swiftly passed through immigration without counters, document checks, or passport scans. Instead, passengers simply walked down a corridor while unobtrusive sensors scanned their faces.
This project underscores Dubai’s leadership in embracing cutting-edge aviation technology, further solidifying its status as a leading global travel hub.

Features of the ‘red carpet’ corridor
This innovation is set to greatly reduce congestion during peak travel times and reinforce Dubai’s role as a central hub for seamless passenger experiences.
The ‘Red Carpet’ allows families or groups to pass through together, offering flexibility and enhancing the travel experience.
The AI system minimizes human involvement, decreases waiting times, boosts airport capacity, and ensures top safety and accuracy standards.
The system is already in use at Terminal 3 for select travelers, and its expansion to both departures and arrivals aligns with Dubai’s broader strategy to incorporate AI technology across its airports.
Dubai International Airport maintained its status as the world’s busiest hub for international passengers in 2024, according to Airports Council International. The smart corridor at DXB is transforming a traditionally stressful part of air travel into a smooth, almost effortless journey, with just a few steps required for clearance.
